![]() The combination wagers were the most profitable for sportsbooks during the month. Parlay bets of two or more combined wagers accounted for $150.3 million, or nearly 34 percent of all bets. Professional baseball accounted for 13.5 percent of wagers at 59.8 million. In September, US professional football wagers represented 17 percent of all wagering at $75.9 million. Maryland Lottery and Gaming now provides monthly sport-specific handle figures. Mobile wagering delivered $2,888,568 during September, while retail sportsbooks contributed $342,859. The statewide handle (amounts players wagered, including free promotional wagers) in September totaled $442,450,666, with mobile handle accounting for 95.1 percent of the total at $420,957,789. Each sportsbook contributes 15 percent of its taxable win to the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future Fund, which supports public education programs. Maryland’s 13 retail and 12 mobile sportsbooks generated $3,231,427 in contributions to the State, up from the $2.555,671 million for August 2023. Sports wagering contributes $3.2 million in tax revenue in September.
